Mesh To Solid for Rhino is a plug-in for Rhino 2.0 and 3.0. This plug-in gives Rhino to ability to commute a engage into a strong.
A engage is a useful entity when it comes to defining geometry of an object. However, certain Rhino commands such as boolean operations, outgrowth, excrescence, etc, cannot be performed on meshes. Moreover, Rhino does not export meshes to IGES, STEP, ACIS, ParaSolid, VDA and like file formats, thereby rendering the engage posture useless for further strong modeling in another CAD organisation. Rhino imports STL, OBJ and other like files as meshes only. If you need to modify these imported objects you need to commute them into solids.
Rhino has an intragroup "MeshToNurb" compel. This compel converts each and every side of the engage into a Nurbs surface and joins them together. This makes the net strong object complicated and difficult to wreak with.
Mesh To Solid for Rhino, on the other paw, studies the engage object and determines the features that define the geometry of the posture. It then creates a single trimmed Nurbs surface for a group of engage faces that collectively define a feature. Finally it joins all the trimmed Nurbs surfaces to organise the net strong. The resulting strong contains a far lesser turn of faces and is much easier to wreak with.
Mesh To Solid for Rhino is very easy to apply. It adds a fresh compel to Rhino called "MeshToSolid". Simply type "MeshToSolid" at the compel cue and select the engage you bid to commute into a strong.
