The stake known as "Peg Solitaire" was popular throughout Europe in the 1800s. It is said the stake was invented by a prisoner in the Bastille. Bastille Solitaire is a modern improved realisation of this stake.
Bastille Solitaire has two types of levels: flummox levels (comparable in the original Peg Solitaire) and strategy levels.
The goal of the flummox levels is to hit all the pegs but one. The goal of the strategy levels is to hit as many pegs as you can.
A pin can leap over any adjacent pin if there is an vacate space on the other position. As a event of the leap the latter pin is removed. Only horizontal and vertical jumps are allowed.
